Last week I visited the home of my abductor (K is for Kidnapping) but he was not home. I left a bag on his doorknob with some Asian Pears and a copy of this book, which he’d never seen.
He messaged me the following day:
“Sorry I missed you. . . Chapter K was quite an eye opener. I had forgotten some of those details. I don’t know how I allowed myself to get that violently abusive. I guess I was the same way to the other kids too and they probably have their own lingering bad memories with intricate details that may have affected their later lives in negative ways. I feel especially bad about that.
